The two programs squared off in the inaugural Bracket Buster Saturday on Feb. 22, 2003 in Omaha, Neb. The then No. 17 Blue Jays notched a 67-66 victory. Creighton made a return trip to Fresno State on Dec. 13, 2003 and posted a 70-62 overtime win in front of the 10th-largest Save Mart Center crowd (14,077). The two programs first met during the 1949-50 season with Creighton posting a 55-31 home win. The two schools then met two seasons later as CU notched a 54-45 home victory, 54-45.
