Track And Field Places Fifth At Air Force Invitational

FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State wrapped up competition at the 16th annual Air Force Invitational on Saturday afternoon, finishing fifth overall with 46 points while other members of the squad closed out action at the Bill Cosby Open in Reno, Nev.
At the Air Force Invitational, Colorado State captured the title with 181.50 points while Arizona State (127) and Wyoming (66) placed second and third, respectively.
Christina Lopez finished fifth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.92 and eighth in the 200-meter dash when she clocked in at 25.81. In the 400-meter dash finals, Erica McCoy took sixth with a time of 58.67 while Zinzi Evans ran a 2:24.39 to place fourth in the 800-meter dash.
Fresno State's 4x400-yard relay team of Lopez, McCoy, Evans and Renee Winston finished fourth with a time of 4:03.13.
In the field events, Lauren Archie recorded a personal-best leap of 11.96m (39-3) in the triple jump to take second while Regina Ollison was right behind in third at 11.74m (38-6.25).
Aspen Marshall registered two top-five finishes on the afternoon, including a career-best 58-4 (17.78m) in the weight throw to take fifth overall.
