Fresno, Calif. - The 28th annual Pepsi/Johnny Quik classic will have a different look this year due to the late departure of scheduled participant Savannah State. The remaining seven teams in the tournament will play in a true round robin, with each team playing the other over the course of the tournament from March 13-18.
Fresno State will play in the 7 p.m. game on each day, beginning with Miami (Ohio) on Monday, March 13, followed by the other 2006 Pepsi/Johnny Quik participants Gonzaga, Binghamton, Washington State, Bucknell, and Lafayette.
With 21 games scheduled for the six days of the tournament, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday will each have four scheduled games beginning at 10 a.m., and the other days will have three scheduled games starting at 1 p.m., with the 10 a.m. start time reserved for games that need to be made up due to weather or time constraints.
The champion of the tournament will be determined as the team with the best record following the completion of play on Saturday. Ties will be settled using three criteria, beginning with the winner of the head-to-head matchup between the teams.
The schedule for the entire tournament is listed below, with the first game of the tournament featuring Lafayette and Binghamton beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, March 13. The Bulldogs will play one additional game during the week, facing tournament participant Bucknell the preceding day at 1:05 p.m. March 12 in a non-tournament game.
