Bulldog Throwers Impressive At Stanislaus Open

FRESNO, Calif.- Three Bulldog throwers on the women's side posted NCAA Regional qualifying marks on Saturday afternoon, highlighting Fresno State's performance at the Stanislaus Open in Turlock.
La'Sha Hill (shot put), Katie Richardson (discus) and Mallory Webb (javelin) all surpassed the NCAA Regional qualifying standard as the Bulldog women's team registered 11 first-place finishes.
Hill threw a career-best 48-4.50 (14.74m) in the shot put, Richardson's toss of 161-5 (49.20m) in the discus led the field and Webb recorded a mark of 149-6 (45.58m) in the javelin.
Other first-place finishers included: Christina Lopez (58.19) in the 400-meters, Zinzi Evans (2:16.20) in the 800-meters and Jamie Farley (168-11) in the hammer.
On the men's side, Fresno State netted six first-place finishes. Two of those came from Ryan Moore, who ran a 47.85 in the 400-meters and 52.95 in the 400-meter hurdles. The Bulldog's 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay teams also checked in first. Taylor Franzman reached 14-6 (4.42m) in the pole vault to win the event.
Fresno State is back in action next weekend, taking part in the second leg of the Northern California Collegiate Series in Chico.
