Henson, Young Post Fourth-Place Heptathlon, Decathlon Finishes

Who has qualified for NCAA Regionals?
HONOLULU- Tonisha Henson and Evan Young recorded fourth-place finishes in the heptathlon and decathlon, respectively, on Thursday afternoon during the second day of the WAC Championships in Honolulu.
Robert Calzadilla, who led the decathlon through five events after one day of competition, placed sixth overall while Alan Floresca checked in seventh.
Henson entered Thursday's competition in sixth place but finished the day fourth overall with a total of 4,388 while contributing five points to the Bulldog's meet score. On the second day, Henson took sixth in the long jump and fifth in both the javelin and 800-meters.
Calzadilla began the morning with an eight-point lead after five events, but slipped to sixth overall with 6,034 points despite taking second in the 1500-meter run and fourth in the 110-m hurdles. Calzadilla's sixth-place finish was good enough to earn one point toward Fresno State's tally.
Young rallied for a fourth-place finish to lead the Bulldogs in the decathlon, notching a total of 6,337 and scoring four points overall. On Thursday, he placed second in the 110-meter hurdles and the pole vault.
Floresca registered 4,785 to take seventh.
Annett Wichmann of Hawai'i won the heptathlon with 5,374 points while Logan Moore of Utah State scored 6,713 points to capture the decathlon title.
Prelims in running and field events of team competition begin Friday.
