Patrick Frank of Orosi was the winning bidder of the first of several fan experience auction items scheduled to be featured on www.gobulldogs.com during the 100 Days to Bulldog Football countdown.
An avid Bulldog fan, Frank's winning bid of $390 gives him the opportunity to run on the field with the football coaches and team as part of pregame introductions for the Sept. 1 home opener against Nevada.
Frank, who will celebrate his 68th birthday later this month, will hear his name called over the public address system as he makes his way onto the field. His name will also appear in lights on the stadium scoreboard. In addition, Frank and a guest will be seated in section 30, row 17 of the premium seating area for the game.
Frank, a member of the Quarterback Club who has also been involved with the Bulldog Foundation, recently visited with the staff of www.gobulldogs.com.
gobulldogs.com: Who is your favorite current and former Bulldog football players?
Patrick Frank: I like Paul Williams. And of course I would have to say David Carr.
gobulldogs.com: What home game are you most looking forward to this year (other than Nevada on Sept. 1)?
Patrick Frank: That's easy- Oregon. I went up to Eugene last year and watched us lose by three. We'll be ready when they come here. Should be an exciting atmosphere. I probably won't be able to hear myself talk after that game.
gobulldogs.com: Do you have a gameday ritual (pregame, postgame, etc.) when attending a Bulldog football game?
Patrick Frank: I don't really do too much anymore. I have season tickets so usually I just take one of my grandchildren. Sometimes it's nice going with someone new to get them involved. Then we just go out to dinner somewhere after the game.
gobulldogs.com: Which team would you most like to see visit Bulldog Stadium?
Patrick Frank: Maybe a school like Pittsburgh; some team from the East Coast that we do not normally get to see. I do like that we are going to LSU; maybe they could come here in the future.
gobulldogs.com: What is your favorite Bulldog football memory?
Patrick Frank: I was there in person last year when we finally beat Boise State. That was great. And I also think the USC game. I had to watch that one at home but I felt it really put us on the map.
gobulldogs.com: What's so great about Bulldog football?
Patrick Frank: I really enjoy Pat Hill and his brand of football. I go to Visalia for the spring game. I try to make as many events as possible. If there is Bulldog football, I'm there. I'm always wearing Bulldog red. Even at home I wear my Bulldog red trunks outside and the neighbors think I'm nuts!
