Fresno, Calif. - With an exhibition against the Sunbirds tonight, the Fresno State soccer team heads into action for the first athletic event of the 2006-07 school year. The game begins at 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium.
In the third year under head coach Steve Springthorpe, the Bulldogs are looking to meet and exceed expectations after last season's spectacular run through the conference tournament as the Bulldogs won the WAC title and entered the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in school history.
The Bulldogs, picked to win the WAC in the preseason coaches poll are also led by two outstanding student-athletes in Cortney Sobrero and Rochelle Jagdeo, the preseason WAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year respectively. Additionally, the Bulldogs return seven seniors anchoring an experienced lineup.
Take your chance to get the first look at the 2006 soccer team tonight at Bulldog Stadium, as the Bulldogs open the season with an exhibition against Fresno Pacific for the third consecutive year.
