FRESNO, Calif. - With less than five days before one of the biggest non-conference homes games in school history, Fresno State officials are predicting a sellout will occur within the next 24 hours for Saturday's game against No. 20 Oregon.
At the end of business Tuesday, less than 600 tickets remained in the general public seating areas. The Fresno State student section had nearly 1,000 tickets remaining for sale.
Russell Hayden, Fresno State's Director of Ticket Operations, predicted all of the public tickets would be sold by the end of Wednesday, based on the pace of ticket sales this week. The majority of the tickets that remain are in the premium seating areas.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 28-19 win over defending WAC champion Nevada last Friday.
"This will be a big-time college football game," said head coach Pat Hill. "We are looking forward to having the Ducks come to Bulldog Stadium. They have a great team and one of the premier programs in the Pac-10 over the last decade. This game has a lot of meaning for our team and out community and I know it will provide a great atmosphere."
Fans can purchase tickets via the web site at www.gobulldogs.com, at the Bulldog Ticket Office at the south entrance of Bulldog Stadium, or by calling (559) 278-DOGS. Student tickets are available at the Bulldog Ticket Office and at the USU Student Union.
The Ducks come to Bulldog Stadium after a 48-10 win over Stanford and are coming off a 10-2 record and finished the 2005 season ranked No. 10 in the polls. This will be Oregon's first appearance at Bulldog Stadium since 1996, when the Ducks beat the Dogs 30-27 in overtime. Each of the last four meetings between Fresno State and Oregon have been decided by four points or less, including last year's game at Autzen Stadium, won by the Ducks 37-34.
