Fresno State vs. Boise State
3 p.m.Friday The Bulldogs lead the overall series with the Broncos 4-2. Fresno State has won the last two meetings, with the most recent game being a 2-0 win at Fresno in 2006. Boise State's two wins came in 2001 and 2004.
Scouting Boise State Boise State is 7-5-2 and 3-0 in WAC play. Shannon Saxton is an offensive threat as she has a league best 32 points (14 goals and four assists). Randi Baker has 11 points (four goals and three assists). Jennifer Burns has played the majority of minutes in goal (972:20).
Fresno State vs. Idaho
11 a.m. Sunday Fresno State leads the series with the Vandals 2-0. In 2006 the Dogs defeated Idaho 2-0 at Fresno and in 2005 Fresno State recorded a 1-0 win at Moscow.
Scouting Idaho
Jennifer Hull leads the Vandals with 11 points (five goals and one assist). Britta Rustad has a team-best four assists. Idaho is 4-9-1 and looking for its first WAC victory.
The Week That Was
Fresno State picked up two home conference wins, knocking off Louisiana Tech 4-0 on Friday and Utah State 1-0 on Sunday. Andrea Alires and Ali Sill each had two assists in Friday's win over La. Tech. Stephanie Yoro scored the game-winning goal against Utah State on a free kick in the 78th minute.
Offensive Minded
This years Bulldog team has been more offensive minded has they have already tied last year mark of 22 goals and surpassed 2005's total of 21 goals. This year Fresno State has had three three goal matches and one four goal match.
It's a First
In last weekends victories over Louisiana Tech and Utah State, Brittany Thomas, Ally Ventura and Stephanie Yoro all netted their first career goals. Thomas and Ventura tallied their goals against La. Tech while Yoro scored the game-winning goal against Utah State.
Gutierrez and Sill Among WAC Leaders
Nicole Gutierrez is fourth in the conference in points with 19. Shannon Saxton from Boise State has a conference-best 32 points. Gutierrez is tied for second in goals with eight. The Bulldog striker is also in the top four in points-per-game and goals-per-game. Ali Sill's six assists puts her in a tie for second place amongst WAC players. Kaity Revel leads the league in shut outs with seven.
