Bulldogs Head to Los Angeles and Las Vegas

FRESNO, Calif. - Junior Rudolf Siwy and sophomore Mirko Zapletal head to the 51st annual Southern California Intercollegiate Championships in Los Angeles. Siwy and Zapletal will begin competition on Nov. 1 at the Los Angeles Tennis Club. The event features a 32-individual singles draw and a 32-team doubles draw.
Siwy enters the tournament with a record 6-3, while Zapletal owns a 3-2 mark. Siwy faces Zapletal will face fifth-seeded Jack Hui of UC Santa Barbara. Siwy and Zapletal will battle BYU's Thomas Shubert and Tom Young at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Other members of the men's tennis team will head to Las Vegas for the UNLV Invitational, Nov. 2-4. Sophomores Flavio Mollinedo and Tejesvi Veerepalli and freshmen Denny Fafek and Siddharth Alapati will participate in the event.
Along with UNLV and Fresno State, Arkansas, Fresno Pacifc, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Tennessee will also compete. The tournament is made up of two singles flights and one doubles flight.
