FRESNO, Calif. - While students prepare to leave for Christmas, Fresno State will welcome track and field coaches from across the nation for certification and training in early December.
The USA Track & Field Coaching Education for Level 1 Certification, which targets coaches leading junior high, high school, club and age group athletes, will take place December 8-9 in the Josephine Theatre.
Directed by Fresno State sprint coach, Chris Baptista, the program strives to "put all coaches on a common platform... [and] covers all events in a foundation manner by emphasizing fundamentals, rules, safety/risk management, and instruction techniques."
