Doverspike Named WAC Golfer of the Month

FRESNO, Calif. - Doverspike Named WAC Golfer of the Month Sophomore Grant Doverspike has been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month for November. This is the first Bulldog golfer to receive the honor.
Doverspike, a native from Bakersfield, Calif. (Stockdale HS), shot a 14-under 202 to finish in second place at the Pacific invitational in Stockton, Calif., Nov. 5-7. Doverspike carded three rounds of 68-68-66 to finish three strokes back of the winner, Charlotte's Stefan Wiedergruen. He had two bogey-free rounds and helped the Bulldogs to a fifth-place finish in the tournament that was won by the then top-ranked team in the nation, Charlotte.
Others nominated: Josh Stewart, New Mexico State; Stephan Stallworth, San Jose State; and Devin Daniels, Utah State.
The fall season has come to an end for the Bulldogs and the other WAC schools. Fresno State will resume in the spring with the John Burns Invitational beginning February 20.
