FRESNO, Calif. - Junior Laura Luethke, has been a standout golfer for the women's golf team at Fresno State since her freshman year. As a freshman she picked up three tournament victories along with the honor of WAC Freshman of the Year. She was named Honorable Mention All-America by the National Golf Coaches Association and has also been selected as a two-time first-team All-WAC. With two impressive seasons, Luethke has been chosen as a co-captain for the women's 2006-07 golf squad and continues to lead by example.

Why did you pick Fresno State?
I picked Fresno State because I thought it was the best place to come where I would have the opportunity to improve my golf game and be a part of the first year of women's golf at Fresno State.
When did you start playing golf?
I started playing golf at the age of 11. My dad plays and teaches therefore he started bring me out to the driving range.
If you weren't playing golf, what other sport would you play?
If I wasn't playing golf I would play tennis because I like individual sports where you depend on yourself.
What is the best part of being a college athlete?
The best part of being a college athlete is getting to travel and see new places.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I like to get out of town, go shopping, go running, go to the gym, or go the lake in the summer time.
What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Caddy shack and Tin Cup
What are your plans after you graduate?
After I graduate I plan on playing golf professionally.
What is the highlight of your sports career?
The highlight of my sports career is winning my first college tournament and 2 California CWAC Junior Girls Championships.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food is steak, Japanese food, and Mexican food.
What is your most missed memory?
My most missed memory is hitting golf balls late at night at my dad driving range when I was 13.
What is your favorite television show?
My favorite television shows are Grays Anatomy and That 70's Show.
What CD do you have in your CD player?
The CD in my car right now is our Team CD.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be able to play golf professionally. What is your favorite vacation spot? My favorite vacation spot is 17 mile Drive in Monterey and Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.
