Fresno, Calif. - The corner of Cedar and Barstow will be very busy this weekend as track, baseball and softball all host home events this Friday and Saturday. Fresno State track will be hosting the Cal-Nevada Championships at Warmerdam Field, baseball welcomes Sacramento State to Beiden Field, and the Bulldog Diamond is set for three softball games with the Utah State Aggies this weekend.
With all three events in such close proximity, Fresno State is offering a special incentive to catch as much of the action as possible, with a "One-Ticket" promotion. Buying admission to any one event on either Friday or Saturday will gain fans entrance to the other two events. Just by showing your stub from one Friday event will allow you to exchange your stub and get a fresh ticket for the next event, allowing fans to move between events and make the most out of a full schedule of sports. The same deal will be available on Saturday, where purchasing a ticket on that day will allow the same three-sport access. Friday tickets will not be honored on Saturday.
Fresno State is again honored to host the Cal-Nevada Championships. With 27 teams from all over the two states, the Bulldogs will look to impress in their biggest meet to date in the outdoor season. With a number of athletes having already qualified for the NCAA Regional, the Bulldogs have an outstanding chance to compete not only for individual titles, but for podium finishes in the team competitions as well.
Conference play continues for softball, as the Bulldogs play their first home series in WAC competition against Utah State. Sitting at 2-1 in WAC play, the Bulldogs hope to improve on their already outstanding 13-1 record at home with a sweep of the Aggies. Sophomore Robin Mackin will be in the circle for the Bulldogs, and reigning conference player of the week Kristin Sylvester will try to keep her hot hitting at the plate going. The ladies are also holding "Take a kid to the game" day, where one paying adult receives a free youth ticket as well.
Across the way, Fresno State baseball also continues WAC play this weekend with affiliate member Sacramento State coming to Beiden Field. With a 13-8 record at home this season, Beiden Field has been where the Bulldogs have played their best ball, and will try to repeat last year's success, where they were 7-0 against the Hornets.
