Bulldogs Sports Network To Broadcast Spring Scrimmage

Fresno, Calif. - Fresno State spring football will be coming to a television near you.
The school announced plans today to televise the annual spring scrimmage, scheduled for Saturday, April 28, at 2 p.m.. The scrimmage will be shown live on Fresno State's television partner, KFRE CW 59. The scrimmage will also be shown live on Comcast Sports Net, televising the event on Comcast cable systems throughout Northern California and into parts of Nevada.
The show will be presented in part by the Fresno State Quarterback Club. This marks the first time the school has produced a television broadcast of the spring event.
"We are pleased to be able to bring the spring scrimmage to Bulldog fans in the Valley," said Associate Athletics Director Paul Ladwig. "In addition to showcasing the football team and student-athletes, we are anxious to introduce our fans of some of the many great things on tap for the 2007 season."
The broadcast will include live and taped interviews with student-athletes, coaches and staff members. Video highlight features will showcase some of the outstanding returning Bulldog student-athletes.
The Bulldog Foundation and Fresno State Quarterback Club will also be featured during the broadcast. Veteran BSN broadcasting partners Ralph Wood and Randy Rosenbloom will broadcast the scrimmage from Bulldog Stadium.
The scrimmage will once again be heard on KMJ 580 AM, the radio home of the Bulldogs, with "Voice of the Bulldogs" Bill Woodward calling the action.
"On behalf of all members of the Fresno State Football Quarterback Club, it is with great pride that we have the opportunity to present this year's football spring scrimmage to viewers all across the San Joaquin Valley," said QBC president Bill Gargan. "This broadcast not only allows the QBC to showcase these great student-athletes and coaches, it promotes your QBC membership and assists Fresno State football to continue to be one of the premier football programs in the nation."
The Fresno State Quarterback Club will provide many events for the fans during the spring scrimmage, including the following activities:
- Games for the kids in front of the ticket office beginning at 1 p.m.
- Bulldog Shop Sale begins at 1 p.m. (in the Blue Lot in front of ticket office)
- Televised live via the Bulldog Sports Network (KFRE CW 59) and on Comcast Sports Net
- Live on KMJ Radio
- Tickets available at the Bulldog ticket office
- BBQ provided afterward by the Quarterback Club ($5 fee per person)
- Autographs of student-athletes available after the scrimmage
- Admission is Free
"It's great that this is going to be televised," said head coach Pat Hill. "We certainly hope fans will come out to Bulldog Stadium and watch in person and participate in all of the fun activities, but those that can't make it will be able to watch on TV or listen on the radio."
