Fresno, Calif. - Fresno State will play host to the ESPN cameras twice next season as the Bulldogs were included in a 10-game ESPN/ESPN2 football television schedule announced by the Western Athletic Conference today. Key in-conference opponent Boise State kicks off the Bulldogs' television appearances on Oct. 26, and the Bulldogs will also be under the bright lights for their Nov. 24 game against Kansas State.
"Having two nationally televised, prime home games is great exposure for our university and the Valley," said head coach Pat Hill. "Boise State and Kansas State are two of the best opponents we've had coming to Bulldog Stadium. We are looking forward to starting spring ball on Monday and getting ready for an exciting 2007 season."
The Boise State game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 and will be shown on ESPN as the featured game in the network's Friday night schedule. The time and network for the Nov. 24 Kansas State game is yet to be determined.
With these two broadcasts, the Bulldog football program will have made 46 national television appearances this decade, among the most of any program in the WAC and on the West Coast. Fresno State is also currently examining other options for the remaining games to bring television coverage to fans in the Central Valley and around the country.
Fresno State defeated Boise State 27-7 in 2005, the last time the Broncos came to Bulldog Stadium. The Bulldogs also beat Kansas State in the two programs' only meeting, a 45-21 victory in 2004 on the road at Manhattan.
