Udwadia Selected as USTA NorCal National Team Coach

FRESNO, Calif. - Jay Udwadia, who for the last three seasons has served as the head coach of the Fresno State men's tennis team, has been selected to coach the United State Tennis Association national team championships July 27-31, 2007.
Udwadia will coach the NorCal Boys 18 team, bringing the best players from the section to the national championship event held at the University of Illinois. Each section selects coaches and teams to compete at the national championship event each year, forming one of the best junior national events in the nation.
"The NorCal section has some of the best talent in the country," said Udwadia. "It's a privilege to be coaching them at such a great event. I look forward to bringing a solid team over to the National Team Championships this summer"
Udwadia, a former NCAA championships caliber player at Arkansas, finished his third season with the Dogs, He's coached NCAA qualifier and 2006 WAC Player of the Year Jakub Cech, winner of the 2006 ITA Northwest Regional Championship.
