FRESNO, Calif. - Bulldog fans listening to KMJ's broadcasts this fall will hear a new voice. In addition to Bill Woodward, who enters his 36th season at the microphone for Bulldog broadcasts, former Bulldog player Jordan Christensen will join the KMJ broadcast team.
Christensen will serve as the color analyst for each Bulldog game, replacing former Bulldog quarterback Mark Barsotti. Barsotti stepped down at the end last season to spend more time with his young family.
"Jordan Christensen will add a lot to our broadcasts," said Associate Athletics Director Paul Ladwig. "As a recent player, he brings valuable insight into Pat Hill's program. As a decorated scholar-athlete, he is a great ambassador for Bulldog football."
Christensen earned four varsity letters (2003-06) and was selected to the Academic All-WAC team four straight seasons. A native of Clovis, where he was a record-setting quarterback at Clovis High School, Christensen earned his degree in four years in Construction Management and is presently completing work on a Master's degree.
"Jordan really understands the game," said Woodward. "We wanted get somebody who knew what Pat (Hill) does and was intimately familiar with the program and Jordan fits the bill. He has a great knowledge of the game. Quarterbacks understand the game differently than most. I loved working with Mark and I understand why he wants to spend more time with his family. This opened the door for Jordan."
Joining Woodward and Christensen on the KMJ broadcasts will be Ralph Wood, Sports Director of KMPH. Wood will patrol the sidelines for the second straight year, offering insight and halftime and post-game interviews with Hill. Wood will remain in his role as the television play-by-play voice for Bulldog Sports Network telecasts.
Each of Fresno State's football games will be broadcast live on 580-AM KMJ. Included in the broadcast is a 90-minute pre-game show and a post-game "Dog Talk", which allows Bulldog fans to call-in and talk about the team.
