Bulldogs Host UTEP and Cal-State Fullerton

FRESNO, Calif. - After six straight road games, the Fresno State women's soccer team returns to Bulldog Stadium to host UTEP on Friday at 7 p.m. and Cal-State Fullerton on Sunday at 2 p.m.
This year all kids who attended the Fresno State soccer summer camp can wear their camp t-shirt for free admission to all regular season soccer home games. For Sunday's match against Fullerton, those fans that bring their Louisiana Tech football ticket stub to the Bulldog ticket office will receive a free ticket to the game.
The Bulldogs (3-4) are coming off two road losses last week to UC Riverside and Loyola Marymount. Nicole Gutierrez, Amanda Reyes and Ali Sill lead the Bulldogs offensively with two goals and two assists. Kaity Revel has played 508:44 as goalkeeper and recorded 23 saves.
Several Bulldog soccer players are climbing their way up the record books. In two plus seasons Gutierrez has 23 points and she is six points away from climbing into the top 10 for most points in a career.
Andrea Alires is also 351 minutes away from playing more minutes than any Bulldog soccer player.
Friday's match with UTEP (6-2-1) is a battle between former WAC foes. UTEP, who is now a member of Conference USA, leads the series with the Bulldogs 3-2-2. In the most recent meeting, the Miners beat Fresno State 3-2 in two overtimes on a neutral field in November of the 2004.
Last weekend, the Miners tied New Mexico 2-2 and beat Idaho 4-1. Tameka Sumter leads the Miners attack with 10 goals and two assists. Cortney Casey has seven goals and three assists while Jami Tullius has chipped in four goals and three assists. UTEP has outscored opponents 27-11.
The series with Cal-State Fullerton is tied 3-3. Fresno State had won three straight before the Titans defeated the Bulldogs 3-1 at Fullerton in 2004. Cal-State Fullerton boasts a 4-3-1 record with victories over Washington, No. 14 Cal, Oklahoma and UC Davis. Lauren Cram has four goals and one assist to lead the Titan offense.
