The Bulldogs and coaches will be on hand for a special tribute for their exciting 9-4 season and victory over Georgia Tech.
Scouting the Spartans Arguably the most improved team in the WAC, San Jose State enters the week with four more victories this season than it had all last season. Coach George Nessman is in his third season as head coach and had 11 wins entering this season. The Spartans enter the week having won three of their last four, including a four-point win over Fresno State on Thursday. SJSU also owns a win over Nevada, the first over the Wolf Pack in six seasons. San Jose State is off to its best start since the 2000-01 season. Guard Justin Graham, SJSU's leading scorer, is out with an injury. At 2-3 in WAC games, the Spartans and Bulldogs will be battling to return to an even record. The Spartans play at Idaho on Thursday before coming to Fresno. San Jose State has won four of five against the Vandals in the Nessman era.
Against the Spartans The Dogs own a 75-70 record against the Spartans in a series that began in 1922. The Dogs split with San Jose State last season, losing at San Jose by three points (64-61) and winning by three at the Save Mart Center (67-64). Fresno State has won 16 of the last 18 games in the series dating back to 1999.
"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The Bulldogs will return home to the Save Mart Center on Saturday, January 26 in a rematch against San Jose State at 7 p.m. Be there as we also honor the 2007 Fresno State football team, winners of the 2007 Roady's Humanitarian Bowl at halftime.
