Siwy Wins Second Straight In Oklahoma

FRESNO, Calif. - Junior Rudolf Siwy won his second-straight singles match of the 2008 campaign with a three set victory over Oklahoma's Sergey Avdeyev, Friday afternoon in Oklahoma City. Despite Siwy's victory, the Bulldogs fell 6-1 to the Sooners after losing the doubles point and five singles matches.
Siwy, ranked No. 92 in the country, opened the 2008 campaign last week with a straight set victory as the 'Dogs beat Cal Poly, 5-2.
At No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, the Bulldogs made things interesting, falling 8-6 in both of those matches. In singles, freshman Siddharth Alapati battled Federico Chavarria before falling 7-5, 7-5.
Fresno State fell to 1-1 on the year while Oklahoma improved to 1-0. The Bulldogs now travel to Arkansas on Sunday to take on the Razorbacks.
