Bulldogs Host Boise State and Idaho

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State soccer continues conference play this weekend at home in Bulldog stadium. The Bulldogs host Boise State on Friday Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. and Idaho on Sunday Oct. 26 at noon.
Last year the Bulldogs and Broncos met in Boise and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The teams met again at the WAC Tournament, where the `Dogs won, 4-1. Fresno State leads the series 5-2-1.
Boise State is three points behind Fresno State for third place. The Broncos are 1-1-1 in conference play and 8-5-2 overall. Shannon Saxton leads the Broncos with six goals and five assists. Liz Ruiz has recorded 33 saves and two shutouts. The Broncos defeated Idaho, 1-0 in overtime.
Last year the `Dogs defeated Idaho, 3-0, in Moscow and they have won three straight games over Idaho.
Idaho is 0-2-1 in WAC play and 1-12-2 overall. Nicole McAllister leads the Vandals with three goals. Jenifer Hull has two goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Liz Boyden has recorded 63 saves and two shutouts.
And the Winner is... Nicole Gutierrez scored her fourth game winning goal against Louisiana Tech and now leads the WAC in game winning goals. She also leads the WAC in shots (51) and shots per game (3.19).
Big Saves Kaitlyn Revel leads the WAC in saves with 83. Revel's average is 5.19 saves a game.
Bulldogs in Overtime Under, Springthorpe the Bulldogs are 9-3-4 in overtime play. The game against Louisiana Tech marks the 17th time a game has been decided in overtime for Springthorpe and the `Dogs. It is the third conference game that has been decided in double overtime and fifth overtime decision this year. In 2008, the Bulldogs are 2-1-2 in overtime games.
Dogs at Home The Bulldogs are 3-3-1 at home this year. Only one conference game has been played at home. The Bulldogs play their final three conference games at home before heading to the WAC Tournament in Reno.
