Red-White Scrimmage Set for October 29

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldog faithful will get a fresh look at both the defending Western Athletic Conference women's basketball champions along with a young and energetic men's hoops squad at Wednesday's Red and White Scrimmage / Skills Showcase.
The event, which is free to the public and starts at 7 p.m. in the Save Mart Center, will feature all the excitement surrounding Bulldog basketball as the two teams take part in five-on-five scrimmages, a two ball challenge, a dunk demonstration, and a special autograph session with the student-athletes.
"This is a great opportunity for the fans to meet our eight new players and get a jump start on the season that is right around the corner," men's head coach Steve Cleveland said.
"We are excited to showcase our team to the Red Wave community Wednesday night," women's head coach Adrian Wiggins said. "The ladies have worked hard the first few weeks of practice and we are looking forward to starting the season."
Throughout the evening, fans will have the opportunity to win a slate of prizes including holiday hoops packs, a Bulldog Shop gift card, and other keepsake souvenirs.
The tentative schedule is listed below:
2 Ball Challenge
- Four teams
- Team comprised of one women's basketball player and one men's basketball
- A lucky fan will be paired with each team, who will help rebound
- 60 seconds for both preliminary rounds and finals
Dunk Demonstration
- Paul George, Mychale Ladd, and Sylvester Seay will compete
- Each contestant gets 60 seconds to complete as many dunks as desired
WBB Scrimmage & MBB Scrimmage
- 2 sets of a 15 minute running clock for each team
- Honorary fan coach will assist each team
Autographs Sessions
- Student athletes available to meet fans and get autographs
- Roughly 30 minutes
