Melloh WAC Pitcher of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - With 32 strikeouts and a 3-1 record at the Palm Springs Classic last weekend, Bulldog pitcher Morgan Melloh has been named the Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for Feb. 25. The freshman from Fishers, Ind., had a 1.14 ERA and allowed only four runs in four appearance in three complete games, including two shutouts.
Melloh leads the team with a 0.81 ERA and a 7-1 overall record in 52 innings pitched. She has 69 strikeouts on the year and opponents are just hitting .189 against her.
Fresno State went 3-2 in the tournament which included 14 top 25 ranked teams. The Bulldogs defeated No. 21 UNLV 2-0, No. 25 Texas 9-7 and Long Island 3-0.
This is the first WAC Pitcher of the Week honor for Melloh and the first for the Bulldogs this season.
"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The next home game for the Bulldogs is a doubleheader Monday, February 25 at 6 p.m. against Eastern Michigan. February 25 is Monday Madness and general admission tickets are just $1 on game day.
