Detwiler Named WAC Hitter of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - - Fresno State sophomore outfielder Steve Detwiler has been named the WAC Hitter of the Week, respectively for April 14-20. This is the first time Detwiler has received the award this season and only the second Bulldog to earn Hitter of the Week honors. Alan Ahmady earned the honor on March 31.
Detwiler, a sophomore from Forest Knolls, Calif. (San Rafael HS), hit .563 (9-for-16), slugging 1.000 with a .708 on-base percentage. He registered nine runs, nine hits, 11 RBI, a double, six walks, and two home runs as Fresno State went 4-1 last week. In Sunday's win at New Mexico State, Detwiler went 4-for-5 at the plate with two runs scored, a double, and six RBI.
The Bulldogs return to Beiden Field on Tuesday and Wednesday when they play host to Santa Clara and San Francisco. Both games begin at 6 p.m. and they can be heard on 580 KMJ.
