PREVIEW
The 18th annual Western Athletic Conference women's golf championship is April 21-23 at the 6,125-yard, par-72 Sunnyside Country Club in Fresno, Calif. Idaho is the defending champion after placing four players in the top-10 in last year's championship at New Mexico State. Three of those players return this year led by senior Kelly Nakashima. Last year's individual medalist -- San Jose State junior Erica Moston -- also returns to defend her title. Moston won by seven strokes last year after shooting a one-over par 217. She has averaged a WAC-best 74.73 strokes per round during the 2007-08 season. San Jose State has featured the past two individual champions as Jenelle Gomez won the 2006 title held at Coyote Creek in San Jose.
