Ahmady Named West Region Player of the Week

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State infielder Alan Ahmady has been named the West Region Baseball Player of the Week by CollegeBaseballinsider.com for his performances last week against Cal Poly and Nevada. The West region consists of schools from the Big West, Mountain West, Pac 10, West Coast, WAC and Independent schools.
Ahmady, a sophomore from Fresno, Calif., hit .583 with 14 hits, eight runs scored, six doubles, three home runs, and 14 RBI as Fresno State went 5-1 last week. In four conference games against Nevada, he hit .600 in 15 at bats with three homers and 10 RBI. He also scored seven runs and had a slugging percentage of 1.467 during the four games against the Pack.
Ahmady was also named National Player of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers and earned WAC Player of the Week honors for his performance last week.
