FRESNO, Calif. - After winning the programs first ever national title last week in Omaha, the Fresno State baseball team has received unprecedented national attention. The most recent recognition came on Tuesday when it was announced that the Bulldog baseball team has been nominated for an ESPY Award in the Best Upset category.
"This means a lot," Fresno State senior left fielder Steve Susdorf said. "The ESPY awards are pretty cool and to have the opportunity to hang out with celebrities will be fun. It's real good for Fresno State and the community. This will be great for coach Batesole when he recruits."
The event will be July 16 in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre downtown. The program will air on ESPN, Sunday, July 20, at 6 p.m. PT. This year's show, which is in its 16th year, is hosted by Justin Timberlake.

Invited to represent Fresno State at the event is coach Mike Batesole, Steve Susdorf, Justin Wilson and Steve Detwiler.
The winner of the competition will be determined by fan voting only. Fans can log onto http://promo.espn.go.com/espn/specialsection/espys2008/ to vote for the Fresno State baseball team.
