FRESNO, Calif. - Junior Laura Dodd has had a big impact on the Fresno State Women's soccer team this season. The sophomore midfielder has scored two game-winning goals and recorded two assists. She has six points and 15 shots. Dodd sat down with gobulldogs.com and answered a few questions.
GoBulldogs.com: When and why did you start playing soccer?
Laura Dodd: I started playing soccer in kindergarten because my mom signed me up.
GoBulldogs.com: Why did you chose Fresno State?
LD: I've grown up looking up to this team my whole life and now I am a Bulldog.
GoBulldogs.com: What is your biggest soccer achievement?
LD: Getting the opportunity to play soccer in college and winning the WAC Tournament last year.
GoBulldogs.com: What's your most embarrassing sports moment?
LD: Last year during the WAC tournament a girl from the other team ripped my shorts completely up the side. I wasn't wearing sliders. Everyone was laughing and I had to trade shorts at half time.
GoBulldogs.com: What are you doing when you aren't on the soccer field?
LD: Sleeping or eathing!
GoBulldogs.com: What is your game day routine?
LD: Relax, get hydrated, eat a good meal the night before and before the game.
GoBulldogs.com: What are you plans after college?
LD: I want to become a speech therapist and move by a beach!
GoBulldogs.com: What is the best advice you have received?
LD: "Anything you set your mind to and commit to you, you can achieve."
GoBulldogs.com: If Hollywood were to make a movie about you, which actress would play you? ?
LD: Lassie because all I do is eat, sleep and run. All Lassie does is eat, sleep and run too.
GoBulldogs.com: If you were stranded on an island, who would you want with you and what three things would you have on the island?
LD: Rachel Pickett to keep me company. And I would take my bed, a Starbucks store and a boat to get off the island.
GoBulldogs.com: If you were to win a million dollars what would be the first thing you'd buy?
LD: A new car.
GoBulldogs.com: What is playing on your iPod?
LD: Taylor Swift.
GoBulldogs.com: Who has influenced you the most?
LD: My Mommy!
GoBulldogs.com: What is your favorite thing about Fresno State soccer?
LD: All the girls that I have met.
GoBulldogs.com: Who is sports hero?
LD: Kobe Bryant because he is amazing and has mastered the game of basketball.
Dodd and the Bulldogs wrap up the regular season on the road against San Jose State on Oct. 30 at 5 p.m.
