FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State midfielder Alex Jensen spent the last two years of her club career playing for the Bullard Magic before coming a Bulldog. Recently, Jensen went back to visit with a few of the teams and shared her experiences playing soccer and being a student-athlete.
"Bullard FC was very pleased to have Alumni Alex Jensen visit the U10, U12, and U13 girls teams and share her soccer experience," said Youth Development Director of Bullard FC Jonathan Petty. "She displayed the character and talent of an exceptional young athlete."
Head coach Brian Zwaschka helped arrange for Jensen to visit her old club.
"Claudia (Cardenas), Katie (Lee) and I all played for Bullard, so they emailed Brian (Zwaschka)," said Jensen. "He wanted us all to come out, but they both had school obligations."
Jensen spoke with three of the girl teams ranging from nine to 12 years-old. The young soccer players also got a chance to ask her questions, get t-shirts signed and take pictures.
"It was an amazing experience because the little girls really look up to you and you don't really realize it," said Jensen. "There are so many college athletes and they look up to us. Everything you say they are all excited about."
The junior started in nine games and played in 15 this season. She recorded five shots with one on goal.
Jensen left the young soccer players with the advice to keep going and never give up. And that you can achieve so much with the will to succeed.
