Kucerkova Named WAC Player of the Week

The Western Athletic Conference announced Fresno State junior Renata Kucerkova was named WAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday for the week of Feb. 16-22.
The junior from the Czech Republic beat Saint Mary's Claire Soper, 7-5, 6-3, on Saturday to clinch the victory for the Bulldogs, who went on to win the match, 7-0. The match was Kucerkova's fourth-straight victory.
She and partner Anastasia Petukhova also were named the top doubles team in the nation by ITA Tennis on Feb. 19. The duo defended that ranking on Saturday with a 8-2 victory over No. 42 Alex Poorta and Soper of Saint Mary's.
