Fresno State Welcomes Gauchos

FRESNO, Calif. - Coming off a 2-1 performance at the Blue-Gray Classic, the No. 39 Fresno State men's tennis team welcomes the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos to the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center Sunday at noon.
The Bulldogs have won three of their past five matches and are currently riding a two-match winning streak. Fresno State is 3-2 defending its home court this year.
Senior Rudolf Siwy leads a strong Bulldog lineup. The defending WAC Player of the Year is ranked No. 55 in the country in singles and No. 31 in doubles with partner Mirko Zapletal.
The Gauchos enter the contest with a 5-9 record, and recently ended a four-match losing streak, with a 5-2 victory against Dartmouth on March 22.
Fresno State holds a 15-4 all-time edge in the series. The Bulldogs have won the last four matches, including a 4-3 win on April 4, 2008 on the Gauchos' home court.
The Bulldogs will next be in action on Tuesday when they host the UC Irvine Anteaters at 2:30 p.m. at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
