FRESNO, Calif. - Three Bulldog distance runners took to the track at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., Friday.
Frank Sanders led the Bulldog surge, marking an NCAA Regional qualifying time in the 1,500-meter. Sanders, the defending WAC Champion in the 1,500, timed a 3:46.77 to take sixth and mark a personal-best. The junior from Turlock, Calif., bettered his career best by more than a second to ensure his postseason bid.
Paul Zwama, the other representative for Fresno State's men's team, competed in the 5,000. The freshman clocked a 14:37.39 in the race for a ninth-place finish and a personal-best. Zwama bettered his former best by over 12 seconds.
