RUSTON, La. - Fresno State's third baseman Tom Mendonca hit his 44th career home run against Louisiana Tech. He became the all-time home run leader after hitting a solo home run to right field. The junior has 15 home runs on the season.
Mendonca passed former record holder Gusieppe Chiaramonte, who hit 43 from 1995-97. Mendonca tied the record last Monday against New Mexico State.
