FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State baseball team hosts Cal State Bakersfield in a three-game series April 3-5 at Beiden Field. The first game is Friday at 6:05 p.m.
Fresno State's junior third baseman and College World Series Hero Tommy Mendonca is about to become the Bulldog home run king. Mendonca needs THREE home runs to break all-time record of 43 set by Guiseppe Chiaramonte (1995-97). Come to Beiden Field to be a part of this historical moment.
The Bulldogs and Roadrunners met earlier this season at the Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic. The `Dogs won both games against the `Runners, 16-1 and 3-2. The Bulldogs lead the overall series 2-0.
The Roadrunners are 4-17 this season. CSUB has earned wins over Portland, Utah and two over St. Louis. The Runners pitching staff has an ERA of 8.64 with 135 strikeouts. Mickey Jannis is leading the team with 30 strikeouts. The team is batting .264 with 17 homers and 109 RBIs. Stuart Smith is batting .333 with five doubles, four home runs and 13 RBIs.

"Join the State - Fresno State!" - The `Dogs host CSU Bakersfield at Beiden Field April 3-5 in a three game weekend series. The `Dogs and Roadrunners square off Friday at 6:05 pm, Saturday at 2:05 pm and Sunday at 1:05 pm. Saturday is Family Fun Day and one ticket gets admission to the baseball, lacrosse and softball games that day. Junior Bulldog Kids Club members can run the bases after Sunday's game.
