FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State right-handed pitcher Matt Morse has been named the WAC's Co-Pitchers of the Week for April 20-26. San Jose State's Ryan Shopshire shares the award with Morse for the week.
Morse, a junior from Glendora, Calif. threw a nine-inning complete game shutout in the opening contest of a four-game set against San Jose State. Morse collected three strikeouts while walking only one. The performance marks Morse's first victory of the season and improves his ERA to 3.74.
The Bulldogs conclude their road trip tomorrow with a single game against Cal Poly at 6 p.m. The `Dogs return home on May 1 and host Nevada for a four-game series.
