Patel Named WAC Golfer of the Week

FRESNO, Calif.-Fresno State's Bhavik Patel has been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week for March 30-April 5. He is the third Bulldog this year to earn the award.
Patel, a freshman from Bakersfield, Calif. (Bakersfield HS), notched his first Top 10 finish of the year with a tie for fourth place at the Western Intercollegiate, March 29-31. Patel posted a 4-over 214 (68-76-70). His 68 in the first round tied him for the tournament lead and was his best round of the year. The Bulldogs finished in a tie for second place in the 18-team field that also included Nevada and San Jose State.
