Patel Advances to Next Round

FRESNO, Calif. - After qualifying for the final 64 at the U.S. Amateur, Bhavik Patel looked dominant after defeating Patrick Rada of Anderson, S.C. on Wednesday. Thru 16 holes, Patel won the match 3 & 2 and advances to the next round.
"Bhavik is a great player but so is everyone in the field at this point," said head coach Mike Watney. "He certainly is playing well under the most extreme pressure. Nothing he does surprises me because he has a lot of game."
Patel posted a 36-hole total of 145 (76-69) on the par 70 Southern Hills Golf Course in Tulsa, Okla., during the first two rounds of stroke play. He finished in a 12-way tie for 20th, compiled six birdies and 20 pars.
No. 23 Patel will match up against No. 55 Brad Revell of Canada in the round of 32. The match begins at 7:20 a.m. PT. If he wins in the morning, another match will take place at 12:05 p.m. PT.
