FRESNO, Calif. - Junior Megan Ashjian's day consists of school, soccer, homework and more homework. She is a midfielder on the Fresno State women's soccer team and a 4.0 Smittcamp honors student majoring in civil engineering. She found time to sit down with gobulldogs.com to answer the tough questions despite her busy schedule.
Gobulldogs: When and why did you start playing soccer?
Megan Ashjian: I started playing soccer when I was four years-old. And I started playing for the snacks at half time and after game!
GB: What is your biggest soccer achievement?
MA: That would be winning our second consecutive Valley championship during my senior year of high school. We won with penalty kicks.
GB: What's your most embarrassing sports moment?
MA: I was going in for a header and I got caught in the net.
GB: What are you doing when you are not on the soccer field?
MA: Studying, studying and when I am done with that, some more studying. And I have Gilmore Girls marathons.
GB: What are your plans after college?
MA: I want to get my master's on my way to becoming a civil engineer. I also want to coach youth soccer and travel to Paris!
GB: What is the best advice you have received?
MA: "There are two things you can always control: attitude and effort." - My dad
GB: If Hollywood were to make a movie about you, which actress would play you?
MA: Sandra Bullock
GB: What is your favorite thing about Fresno State soccer?
MA: Being a part of a team with great heart and passion for the game.
The Bulldogs hit the field against Sacramento State on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. in Bulldogs Stadium.
