Fresno State Hosts Annual Tournament

FRESNO, Calif. - Nine men's tennis teams from California, Oregon and Nevada will convene in Fresno, Calif., for the Bulldog Classic on Friday through Sunday.
Fresno State welcomes California, Oregon, UC Santa Barbara, Nevada, San Francisco, Cal Poly, Fresno City College and the defending NAIA Champion, Fresno Pacific, to the annual tournament.
Bulldog junior Rikus de Villiers returns to the 2009 Bulldog Classic to defend his crown. Last season he brought home the A Flight Championship with a 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) victory over California's Pedro Zerbini.
The Classic is a traditional bracket tournament with A, B and C Flights for singles and A and B Flights for doubles with approximately 70 players involved. Play will begin at 9 a.m. each day
This year the Bulldog Classic will be played at both Fresno State's Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center and the Fresno City College Tennis Courts located between the gymnasium and the railroad tracks via Weldon Ave ( directions).
