Bulldogs Head to ITA NW Regional

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's tennis team, ranked No. 27 heads to Palo Alto, Calif., Friday through Tuesday. The winner of the singles and doubles draw qualifies for the National Indoors.
Competing for the Bulldogs include, Siddharth Alapati, David Ayoun, Remi Boutillier, Rikus de Villiers, Jean-Charles Diame, Sebastian Hafner and Nick Papac.
For singles there will be one 128 draw and doubles one 64 draw.
Top teams competing include, No. 9 Stanford, No. 18 California and No. 28 Washington. Other teams competing include UC Davis, Gonzaga, Oregon, Pacific, University of Portland, Portland State, Sac State, Santa Clara, Saint Mary's and University of San Francisco.
Four of the seven `Dogs have competed in previous years at the ITA Northwest Regional. Alapati, Ayoun and Boutillier advanced to Round of 64 and last season, de Villiers earned victories up to Round of 16.
In singles, de Villiers earned a bye the round of 128 and advances to the Round of 64.
In doubles, Diame/Alapati and Boutillier/de Villiers earned a bye in the Round of 64 and advance to the Round of 32.
The USTA/ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players competing in each of the ITA's regions across the country. Over 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete in the USTA/ITA Regional Championships held at 85 different college campuses across the country.
