FRESNO, Calif. - The bright lights of the Save Mart Center will feature a special preview of the 2010-11 Fresno State men's and women's basketball teams on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. during "Red & White Hoops Night."
This will be the first opportunity for the Red Wave to see WAC Preseason Player of the Year Jaleesa Ross, first-team All-WAC honoree Greg Smith and the talented additions to both rosters.
Admission and parking are free for all fans.
The night will start with an introduction of the teams followed by a dynamic showcase of the up-tempo style that head coaches Adrian Wiggins and Steve Cleveland bring to the hardwood.
"We love playing in front of our fans and this is always a fun evening for our players and community," Cleveland said. "We have a great group of young men that are practicing hard and getting ready for the season."
Wiggins, the WAC's Coach of the Year and the leader of the squad that has made a program-record three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, is thrilled to be back in the gym.
"Any chance we get to spend time with our loyal fans is a wonderful opportunity," Wiggins added. "This is a special year for our university as we celebrate our Centennial. We are very excited for the season and remained focused on competing at the highest level."
After the full-court sessions, the two squads will face off in a 3-point shooting and dunk contest that will force the Dogs to win the respect of some familiar judges, including former Bulldogs and local personalities.
Throughout the night, fans will have a chance to win prizes and tickets to upcoming home basketball games.
The two Voices of the Bulldogs, Paul Loeffler (men's basketball) and Guy Haberman (women's basketball), are set to host the evening's festivities.
"We are Your Team!" -- Join the Bulldogs at the Save Mart Center on Oct. 26 for Red & White Hoops Night at 7 p.m. Admission is free. Season tickets for the 2010-11 men's and women's basketball season are available by clicking the tickets icon at the top of the page.
