New Bulldog Signs For 2011

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's golf head coach Angie Cates-Moore has announced the signing of Madchen Ly's National Letter of Intent.
"We are very excited to have Madchen join our golf program," said Cates-Moore. "She is one of the best junior golfers coming out of the Valley and we are thrilled she has chosen Fresno State. Madchen will have an immediate impact on our line up. She is a very good golfer and should have a smooth transition as she becomes a Bulldog."
Ly will graduate from Clovis High School this June. She will be the second graduate from Clovis HS to become a Bulldog golfer. Brittany Cooley was a member of the inaugural team in 2004.
The Valley resident recently defended her title winning the CIF Valley Individual shooting a 3-under 70 and is the first to win back-to-back titles in the 15-year history of the event.
Ly is coming off an equally outstanding performance from summer 2010 where she won the JGANC Players Championship, the Len Ross Fresno City Amateur, the Phil Marskey Sacramento City Junior Championship and the Yosemite Junior Golf Classic.
Ly also represented the JGANC in the Mary Cave Cup and was a member of the North team for the North vs. South JGANC matches. During the same season she was also a Semifinalist for the California Junior Girls State Championship.
