Fresno State Wraps Up National Team Indoors

FRESNO, Calif. - In the final day of action at the ITA National Team Indoors Sweet 16, 26th-ranked Fresno State met No. 12 Illinois in the consolation bracket, with the Illini coming away with a 4-2 victory.
The Bulldogs came out strong and took a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point.
No. 36 Remi Boutillier and Rikus de Villiers sent away Johnny Hamui and Dennis Nevolo, 8-5, while Siddharth Alapati and Tejesvi Veerepalli defeated Abe Souza and Connor Roth, 8-4.
Boutillier continued his strong play into doubles action, as the freshman from Briancon, France, picked up a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Stephen Hoh, in straight sets.
Fresno State junior Siddharth Alapati went into a third set against Connor Roth, but the team victory was clinched and the match was call, before it could be completed.
The `Dogs return home to face No. 29 Boise State on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
