`Dogs Sweep Broncos at Blue-Gray

FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 26 Fresno State men's tennis team swept conference-rival No. 71 Boise State, 4-0, in the first round of the Blue-Gray Classic on Thursday in Montgomery, Ala.
Fresno State jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point.
The 22nd-ranked tandem of junior Rikus de Villiers and sophomore Remi Boutillier defeated the Broncos' Alex Bothe and James Meredith, 8-5. Seniors Taylor Leiby and Mirko Zapletal also picked up an 8-6 victory over Vicente Joli and Filipp Pogostkin.
Bulldog sophomore Siddharth Alapati put the 'Dogs up 2-0 by beating Boise State's Cristian Hodel, 6-1, 6-3.
No. 123 Tejesvi Veerepalli and Remi Boutillier also picked up a victory for the Bulldogs.
Fresno State will next be in action against the winner of the Notre Dame vs. Middle Tennessee State matchup on Friday at 11 a.m. PT.
