FRESNO, Calif. - Multiplying the Pressure
The Fresno State decathletes take on the Cal Multis Wednesday and Thursday as the multi-event athletes get their first opportunity to compete in all ten events. Matt Bushnell took first among collegiate athletes and second overall at the meet last season, earning a career-high 6,828 points. He and David Deal, who fell ill prior to the meet last season, will represent the Bulldogs at the mid-week meet.
Cal-Nevada Championships
The Fresno State Track & Field team returns to Los Angeles, Calif., for the Cal-Nevada Championships, after competing in Los Angeles last weekend for the USC Trojan Invitational. The Bulldogs face the annual region-wide championship this weekend as they face the Cal-Nevadas Saturday and Sunday. The meet will be held at Drake Stadium and hosted by UCLA. Last season the men took seventh among the 22 teams competing, led by hurdlers Val-Pierre Dai'Re and Kendrick Young and thrower Tim Greene. Last season, the Bulldogs finished sixth among the 22 teams at the Cal-Nevada Championships, led by Latrisha Jordan's record-breaking performance in the 400-meter hurdles.
