'Dogs Headed to Sacramento

The Bulldogs compete at the Mondo Invitational hosted by Sacramento State Saturday. The one-day meet held at Hornet Stadium will feature six teams: Sacramento State, Washington, Stanford, Idaho State, Fresno State, Portland State. On the women's side, both Washington and Stanford are ranked in the nation's top 25 teams, with the Huskies sitting at No. 14 and Stanford at 21. The meet begins at 10:30 a.m. on the field with the women's hammer throw, running events shoot off at 12:30 p.m. with the women's 5,000-meter run. The men's field events will begin at 10:45 a.m. with the shot put and the running events will begin with the 5,000 at 1p.m.
Women Rolling in the Rankings
Three Bulldogs appeared on the second week's national event-by-event rankings released Tuesday. Rosario Sanchez maintained the No. 22 in the shot put rankings based on her mark from 2008 (most recent past season after redshirting in 2009). All-American hurdler Latrisha Jordan holds the No. 24 spot in the 400-meter hurdles using last year's record-breaking time. Tiera Hilliard rounds out the team's representatives on the Top 50 list with a 43rd ranking in the 400. The first four weeks of the rankings use bests that include marks from the previous season. The fifth week's rankings will reflect only marks from 2010.
Men's Rankings Released
The USTFCCCA released the second rankings of the year Tuesday and three Bulldogs made the event-by-event list. Kendrick Young and Val-Pierre Dai'Re are both featured in the 400 meter hurdles based upon times from the 2009 season. Young is ranked at No. 26 and Dai'Re sits at No. 30. Tim Greene is also among the Top 50. Greene holds the 31st ranking in the hammer throw based upon his career-best set in 2009. The first four weeks of the rankings include bests from the previous season, the fifth week's rankings will reflect only marks from 2010.
