Bulldog trio heads to Arkansas for NCAA West First Round

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team sees its season continue this week at the NCAA West First Round, hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. from May 27-30. The Bulldogs have three athletes competing in three events, all seeking a spot in the NCAA Outdoor Championships set for June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.

Jabari King - Long Jump
For the first time since 2015, Fresno State is sending a male athlete to the NCAA Regional. King qualified in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 7.78m at the Mountain West Championships. King, a Fresno native and graduate of Central High School, is No. 18 in the west with that mark. His jump at the conference championships is No. 7 all-time at Fresno State and the furthest jump by a Bulldog since 2008.

Zoe Yeast - Hammer Throw
Yeast qualified in the hammer with a personal-best mark of 62.62m earlier this season. She sits at No. 21 in the field heading into the event. Yeast's throw is No. 7 all-time at Fresno State. She will head to her first postseason event since joining the Bulldogs last year, and the first of her career.Â

Yeast will compete on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. PT.

Liz Tarczy - High Jump
Tarczy makes her return to the NCAA West First Round in the high jump. She is currently ranked No. 23 in the field with a season-best mark of 1.82m. Tarczy looks ahead to her third straight trip to the NCAA First Round. At last year's event, she placed 15th with a height of 1.81m, just outside of advancing the the National Championship.Â
