No. 25 `Dogs Conclude Series Sunday

FRESNO, Calif. - The 25th ranked Fresno State baseball team put the pressure on until the final out was made in the night cap, but fell to San Jose State 9-3 and 4-3, respectively. The Bulldogs are 31-22 overall and are 12-7 in the Western Athletic Conference.
In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader junior Jordan Ribera launched his 24th home run of the season and extended his hitting streak to 16 games.
Garrett Weber recorded a hit in each game increasing his hitting streak to 11 games. The junior is hitting .394 on the season.
Four Bulldogs that include, Dusty Robinson, Bobby Coyle, Kenny Wise and Brennan Gowens had a multiple hits in one of the games.
Game One: San Jose State 9, Fresno State 3
The Bulldogs scoreless inning streak ended in the second inning. After nine consecutive games without allowing a run the Spartans scored two taking the lead, 2-0.
The `Dogs defense continued to shine on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Third baseman Isacc Vivas made a diving stop to his left and threw the lead runner out at second base in the third inning.
In the third inning, Coyle tied the game with one swing of the bat. He ripped a two-run home run, his ninth of the season, to right center field. Ribera followed with a home run of his own to left field giving the Bulldogs the lead, 3-0.
San Jose State scored two runs in the fifth inning regaining the lead, 4-3.
The Spartans added four runs cross home plate in the seventh inning as the Bulldogs trail, 8-3.
San Jose State won the first game of the doubleheader, 9-3.
Game Two: San Jose State 4, Fresno State 3
The Spartans took 1-0 lead in the first inning after hitting a solo home run over the left field wall.
Garrison hit an RBI double off the left field wall that drove in the tying run. The Bulldogs took a 2-1 advantage into the third inning after designated hitter Kenny Wise hit an RBI double down the right field line.
San Jose State tied the game 2-2 in the third inning with a run.
Junior Greg Gonzalez struck out five batters in a six and third inning outing. He limited the Spartans to four hits. Gonzalez is 6-2 on the mound this season.
A solo home run over the left field fence in the third inning from Robinson gave the `Dogs the lead, 3-2. The sophomore has 14 home runs on the season.
The Spartans scored two runs in the seventh inning and held on to win the second game of the doubleheader, 4-3.
