'Dogs Remain in First

FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs scoreless inning streak ended in the second inning. After nine consecutive games without allowing a run the Spartans scored two taking the lead, 2-0.
The `Dogs defense continued to shine on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Third baseman Isacc Vivas made a diving stop to his left and threw the lead runner out at second base in the third inning.
In the third inning, Coyle tied the game with one swing of the bat. He ripped a two-run home run, his ninth of the season, to right center field. Ribera followed with a home run of his own to left field giving the Bulldogs the lead, 3-0.
San Jose State scored two runs in the fifth inning regaining the lead, 4-3.
The Spartans added four runs cross home plate in the seventh inning as the Bulldogs trail, 8-3.
San Jose State won the first game of the doubleheader, 9-3.
